Microsoft releases Windows 7 this October and already its easy to see that this will be a replacement for Vista in every way, not only does it require a lower standard of hardware within your pc but it will also cost less then Vista, leaving the question, why buy Vista?
The retail prices are said to range from $119.99 to $319.99 which roughly shows a 10% lower price then equivalent versions of Windows Vista. In comparison from migrating from XP to Vista the Vista to Windows 7 migration should be a lot less hassle as drivers should work on both platforms, therefore in effect a device that installs on Vista should work in Windows 7, that said there are some exceptions
The hardware requirements for Windows 7 are extremely low considering how advanced the Operating System is, the minimum requirements consist of a 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB free space and a DVD drive, to run Aero you must have a graphics card that supports Direct-X 9 and has 128MB of memory. Remember you should aim a lot higher as a minimum requirement states what it will work on, not what it will work well on.
Don’t miss your chance of saving over 50% on Windows 7, find out how here. Also be sure to check out the SeattleTimes for further information.
