Due in 2009: AT&T 3G Microcell

Good news for you AT&T customers out there who are currently frustrated with the lack of signal, AT&T plan to have this issue resolved by the end end of the year, although this isn’t an instant solution it is good to hear AT&T are doing their best to resolve the issue.

AT&T will be sending their customers a device that offers a 5,000 square feet area of 3G coverage from where it is deployed, the device itself is said to be no larger then a cable modem. The device is called the AT&T 3G MicroCell and they are currently under trial, wider trials will commence over the next few weeks with a planned national launch by the end of the year.

I pay $250.00 a month for AT7T wireless and can not use it in my office.

I bought the new iPhone 3Gs and do not get signal at my home. We live in an area higher than the towers!!!! Needless to say AT&T lost a new customer within 5 days. I will stick with Verizon (where I have service but no bars). I tried to get them to get me into a trial, but no go.

AT&T better step up the game as Verizon is way ahead of them in this technology.
