If you was to ask anyone what their favorite gadget was this year, then it would have to be the six days old Apple iPhone 3G S. There had been hopes that a newer cheaper iPhone would have been announced at the WWDC 2009 Apple keynote, but that did not come. However according to PC World, when you take a closer look at the real cost of the 16GB version of the Apple iPhone 3G S, you are getting a better deal than what you think.
Looking at an analysis cost of the new Smartphone, it cost Apple almost $179 to make it, and when purchased with an AT&T contract, you pay just $199. iSuppli are the team who have taken the iPhone apart and come up with this breakdown cost, they have looked at each of its components and then worked out the cost for each of them as well as manufacturing expenses.
iSuppli reckons that the latest handset from Apple is just $5 more expensive that the older 3G model and that was for an 8GB version. We do have to remember that the price that has been reached does not include software development, packaging and shipping.
See the complete breakdown below thanks to iSuppli.
