IPhone 3GS Beats Palm Pre and T-Mobile G1 in JavaScript Benchmarks
By: Jamie Pert | June 25, 2009 | Leave a CommentJavascript benchmarks have been ran across the iPhone 3G S, Palm Pre and the T-Mobile G1, the benchmarks don’t necessarily mean which phone is best its just a way of comparing the hardware/software relationship and performance.
The results were released by Medialets and the iPhone 3G S dominated the benchmarks, roughly translated the tests results were 3 times better then then Palm Pre, and 5 times better then the T-Mobile G1. Interestingly the iPhone 3.0 OS outperformed the OS 2.21 by a factor of 3.
The results are not a huge surprise as the web0S and Android Operating Systems are still relatively new, and have not had the evaluation period which iPhone OS versions have had, that said the results for iPhone OS 3.0 are extremely impressive. The test was also run on a 2Ghz Core2Duo MacBook, the iPhone was only 12 x slower then the MacBook which is a huge jump for smartphones processing power.
