HTC Hero Android Phone: In UK with T-Mobile, Orange
By: Peter Chubb | June 25, 2009 | Leave a CommentThe first Google Android phone to hit the UK was the G1 and was available on the T-Mobile network; the second Android phone will be made available to more than just one. According to IT Pro Portal, the new HTC Hero will be going to Orange, T-Mobile are also getting the new handset, but have decided to go with the name G1 Touch.
The old G1 phone, which can now be purchased for as low as $100 was a great start for Android, but a new more mature product was needed, and that is where the new HTC Hero or G1 Touch comes in. The handset comes with a 5-megapixel camera and the keyboard has now gone, in its place is a 3.2-inch touchscreen.
T-Mobile are to offer an HTC black edition Hero, this is because the black iPhone 3G S has sold more than the white version by a ratio of 3:1. T-Mobile and Orange will offer the new handsets for £40 per month; this will be for a two-year contract.
