Recall: Some Sony NWZ-W202 Walkman headphones
Filed under: News, Recalls

Sony like every other company work hard to try and ensure that the products that they produce meet tough quality standards, but once in a while a product will slip through the cracks and produce a problem and will then have to be recalled. This latest recall is the Sony NWZ-W202 Walkman headphones.
The reason for the recall is that a performance issue will occur when the device is exposed to sweat or any other form of liquid. Sony Insider did write an article about this issue more than a week ago; after a number of its readers had reported that, the device was malfunctioning while they worked out.
Sony takes its customer feedback seriously, and has since issued a recall of the headphones that come with the NWZ-W202. Contact Sony’s eSupport site, there you will be able to look at the 7-digit serial number on the headphones to see if your device is affected by this recall.

Here is what Sony Canada has to say ( which is not much) -
“The NWZ-W202 Walkman Player is not known by Sony to be defective in any way and we are not aware of a problem. Sony does not address any comments published on, or quoted from a non-Sony website.
Thank you for choosing Sony.
