We have not seen the Panasonic DMP-B15 portable Blu-ray player since it was on shown a few months back, but now Engadget have managed to get their hands on this cool looking device. You will have to be a brave person to purchase one of these, as it has a bigger price tag than a number of laptops on the market.
However if you do have the spare cash, then you should certainly consider this item which is aimed at a niche market. The DMP-B15 portable Blu-ray player is light yet strong, which has to be a perfect combination. The device can often run hot, with the heat venting out of the side, but this is not a problem and the silent disc running more than makes up for it.
You would have thought that as this is a portable Blu-ray player then start up times would be slower than a dedicated home Blu-ray player, but the times are comparable. The Panasonic’s new DMP-B15 portable Blu-ray player is certainly not the best in its class, but is passable. For a complete hands on review, head over to Engadget.
