Who would have thought that we first learned of the BT-1 Bluetooth webcam for Mac OS X back in January, well we have now learned through Engadget that Ecamm is now shipping the new webcam. We now have to wonder if it has been worth the wait.
The new Ecamm BT-1 Bluetooth webcam has a resolution of 640 x 480 and its 15fps H.264 video quality is much the same as what a MacBook gives you. The idea behind this though, is that you can change your angle of view while chatting away on Skype.
The price is $150, and for that, you get yourself the webcam, a USB charger cable and a mini-tripod. Your system requirements are Mac OS X 10.5 or newer, and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR or better. BT-1 will also be offering a range of accessories for its BT-1 Wireless Webcam soon, see more here.
