Windows 7 free upgrade and release news

By: Peter Chubb | June 22, 2009 | 4 Comments

We recently spoke about the price and upgrade details of Windows 7, the new operating system from Microsoft, but now there are rumors that the OS will be released on October 22, and in some cases could even be free to upgrade.

If this release date is true, then this could be great new for Microsoft, as it is in time for the holiday season. The Detroit News has reported that Microsoft is to offer Windows 7 as a free upgrade to those who had purchased a Windows Vista computer this summer, with Australia and New Zealand getting the OS first.

Microsoft has not confirmed this yet, but The Detroit News explains that this rumor would certainly make sense. The software giant does not want their consumers purchasing a new computer, only to find out that the new Windows 7 OS was released shortly after.

This is rediculous. Its time for them to own up on their mistakes, I paid for Vista ultimate about a year ago, not knowing that there was a new operating system in the works, to replace vista. Thats why i waited so long in the first place.

Now microsoft is hooking people up that are going to go buy laptops now. What about the computer enthusiests who went out and paid full price with complete confidence that microsoft would take care of us. Especially those who bought Ultimate!!
Obviously its too much to assume they would give us some discount. I will buy windows 7, I have to buy it eventually. They are going to stop giving support to vista which is much needed.
Its bad enough having to buy a new graphics card every year or two.
Now im just ranting, but I just feel so taken, i mean no lube or nothing. come on guys.

OMG, wait a min, lets not forget the people who go out and buy like a $500 laptop, now they will havea Vista product key and a free win7 product key. Cause they put so much money into the company already. If i wasnt totally discusted by the idea i would switch OS’s. But like i say, Microsoft has us, right where they want us.
