Windows 7 free upgrade and release news
By: Peter Chubb | June 22, 2009 | 4 CommentsWe recently spoke about the price and upgrade details of Windows 7, the new operating system from Microsoft, but now there are rumors that the OS will be released on October 22, and in some cases could even be free to upgrade.
If this release date is true, then this could be great new for Microsoft, as it is in time for the holiday season. The Detroit News has reported that Microsoft is to offer Windows 7 as a free upgrade to those who had purchased a Windows Vista computer this summer, with Australia and New Zealand getting the OS first.
Microsoft has not confirmed this yet, but The Detroit News explains that this rumor would certainly make sense. The software giant does not want their consumers purchasing a new computer, only to find out that the new Windows 7 OS was released shortly after.
