T-Mobile USA: my Touch 3G announced today

We reported that T-Mobile USA were to make an announcement this week, well we can now tell you that the network carrier is to launch its second Google Android phone, the myTouch 3G. The phone will be ready for pre-order on July 8 and will be released later in July.

According to Computer World, This new touchscreen device is to cost $200 on a two-year contract, and as you can see, is a lot like the HTC Magic. The National retail availability of the my Touch 3G will be some time in August. The phone comes with a nicely sized 3.2-in. touch-screen display and virtual keyboard, this can be used in both portrait and landscape mode.

The camera is not the best on the market, at just 3.2-megapixel, and like the iPhone 3G S camera offers video capabilities and MMS support. The new handset is all about personalization, as users will be able to customize icons, menus and wallpapers.

Ive been with AT&T, Sprint, Verizon/Alltel and Tmobile and I must say that Tmobile has the VERY BEST service. Believe me like cool phones so much I have three separate accounts, one for my iphone one for my Blackberry and I await my upgrade t mobile MY TOUCH 3G!
You know eventually in the near future the smart phones, touch screen or not, will all be neck and neck with some coming and going innovations. One day our phones, which we most likely will not call phones but most likely hand help or some other computer name, will do an amazing amount of things for us. Not only will we be able access the web with full communications like text, mail and community site, photo, video and music up and down load, Net Browse for all purchases and bill paying, instant information search with GPS. But we will also be able sync them with our homes such as tv, security sync them with our cars.

That said there’s one consideration to make, and that my friends is Android and what Android proposes to do. Android proposes to be THE SYSTEM that ALL smart phones work on/with..
I’m just glad to of been a t mobile customer for over 5 years and to be a part of the begin of the future of communications. Its going to be great to watch T mobile get back on top and push the Android onward.
Yeah there’s allays going to be the phone on the other side of the fence that has a cooler sounding bell or whistle, or a phone that is in the spot light for a year or 2. So ask your self where is all this going? Whom do you see as a real innovator in the communications development.
My vote goes to Android and T mobile’s My Touch is our horse

i got it and it’s nice. i have the white one.. its no iphone.. but its still a very well equiped phone. the battery last longer, faster almost than my bronze g1, and feels more comfortable in the palm. the packaging is alot better than any phones i’ve ever seen. ohh yeah comes with a 4gb mini sd card. its g1 all cleanded up in a neat package without the querty key board.

I just the my touch 3g and i am having problems with my map. I called tmobile about it and they said it was normal.
But is it normal for it to be like 4 streets away or at times not even close to where i am at?

This phone seem pretty cool, but I just don’t think I could give up my iPhone for it. I’ve had tmobile for about 6 years, and it’s nice to finally see them come out with a phone that has kept up with technology lol. Tmobile has always been a little behind, but hopefully this phone helps them out. It’s just tough when they have the iPhone looking down on them, especially considering how easy it is to use with tmobile. One day all the phones will be equal, but for now, te iPhone is sitting pretty comfortably on top, but who knows for how long.

I found out the difference between the my touch and the G2 due out Aug 12. the my fouch is a fun anfroid phone and the G@ with a keyboard will have a windows operating system which is for business use MS Office Excel, Power Point etc… I got the my touch because it is fun the G2 business and the apps are limited to where and what you can download because it is not android.

I got My Touch in white color. Loved it, but after couple of day’s persons who called me couldn’t hear me neither I could hear them. Well, I went to the store, they said: “You just turn it off wait 10 sec and start again” Hmm… wondering why phone that is about 3 day’s old and worth of $500 needs to be turned off and on whenever it is doesn’t work properly. Ok, I gave it another try. Again, people couldn’t hear me, coverage was on and off, I wasn’t able to get any signal out … turned off and on twice, no succes. Than I was done. Another think I didn’t liked- they have that bar code application you can download it for free - you take picture of some product bar code and send it out to get info about prices and where to buy…., great idea, but 3.2 mg pic camera can’t get picture clear enougt to make the programm understand it… at least my phone couldn’t and all other pictures I was taking were the same - blurry. It was hard to text, and it doesn’t work without internet.
On the bright side love touch screen, internet works fast, easy access to maps, e-mails, websites. Loved idea that I could listen youtube.com and music in general straight from My Touch phone in my car. I comes with that little connector. Loved big screen. I guess I just get unlucky phone.
I didn’t risk to exchange the phones so I just ended up with blackberry, which works great.

Hope, your phones works great, if not you have 6 months to exchange them :) good luck

I have been with T-Mobile for quite sometime. I have had an iPhone for over a year now(broken) and I am getting the G3 instead. I am taking advantahge of my upgrade that is well overdue.
I am keeping the iPhone for my movies.
The thing that bugs me about the iPhone and using t-mobile (because I will never go to AT&T) is that you cant get any apps from iTunes because the phone is hacked. I have a ton of apps that I can use but you do not have full use of the iPhone. I love the iphone but I would much rather have the MyTouch 3G. OUT WITH OLD, IN WITH THE NEW!!!!
