T-Mobile myTouch 3G: specs and release date

Ok… need the important information that seems to be missing in every article I’ve read… how much internal memory does it come with? It limits the number of apps.. and processing capability… please update and add this vital info

  2. anon says:

    518MB i mean!!!

  3. manny says:

it has 512 mb of internal memory…. still a disappointment …. here is the link to it….

i am still better off with the rooted g1…. which does far more then this piece of crap would…. thank you google for holding us down as always…. i had faith in you for a better phone… u again you disappoint us ….. you have the potential to make this better then the iphone…. so much for an open system on a the phone which u indeed lied to the public….

    • Ryan says:

I agree that more feature upgrades from the G1 would have been nice, but dude you’re confusing the OS with the hardware. Google makes the operating system. HTC makes the phone. Google wants 18-20 phones to come out this year (doubt they’ll make it, but again, it’s a hardware vendor problem, not Google’s) so if you want a better phone just wait a little bit. All this lame whining from people who don’t know what they’re talking about drives me nuts.

P.S. when making a comparison, it’s “than”, not “then”

    • ross says:

Just root the mytouch when it comes out then. Yes its possible have one already and rooted it.

I have been with t-mobile for 10 years back when it was voicesteam, and I waited 6 months for t-mobile to come out with a cool phone so i can upgrade but what a disapointment my old phone from 2 1/2 years ago has more memory then that why create a great phone and then not give it memory the I-phone has 16g and 32g thats what people want. I quess after 10 years i am going to leave t-mobile and go to AT&T to get the i-phone because i need a phone that performs not a wanabe that comes up short sorry t-mobile.

    • Edgar says:

Theres little things called memory cards and you can stick up to 32gb in the G1 and MyTouch for like $30. And good luck with the iphone and its restrictions and maybe you need to try a G1/mytouch and play with all its features before you call it a wanabe

    • Mcottie says:

AT&T actually will not be the only one with the iphone. Their contract of “exclusive” is up this year. So I’ve heard.

    • Jon says:

per wireless.att.com the iPhone 32 gig is 300 dollars now. with a 2 yr contract. with that 2 year contract you would pay this….

data plan is required like t-mobile at 30 dollars a month. with unl messaging you’re looking at 50. voice plans are appx. 20 dollars cheaper then t-mobile (www.t-mobile.com) ex. 1350 minutes for 80 dollars at att, 60 dollar for 1500 minutes with t-mobile. t-mobile’s unl msg and data is 35 dollars. so you’re spending approx. 35 dollars more a month with at+t for 2 years = 840 dollars before tax. plus with the iPhone you don’t have the android OS. you’re using a OS that has fewer options. How easy is it to root your g1? pretty simple, an iPhone to jailbreak, yet keep up to date and modify it. very difficult. so you can customize you’re G1 or MyTouch easier vs the iPhone. Plus you’ll be saving a LOT of money. also check of jdpower.com look at the call quality and customer service. you’re getting worse service on calls and when you need help calling into customer care.

to make a long story short, you’ve been with t-mobile for like a decade, you don’t know what else is out their it sounds like. do all the research and you’ll be doing kartwheels knowing you’re with T-Mobile

      • jen says:

Hey guys. I actually work for t-mobile in the highest level tech support department. Which also happens to be the “unsupported phone” department. Yup. Not only are we cheapest, with the best customer service, but we also are the only carrier who will actively work with you to get an unlocked phone to work on our network. We can’t guarantee it will work, since it’s not our phone, but we try our hardest. It’s illegal for us to help you unlock a phone that isn’t ours, so we don’t have unlock codes, but if you wanted to go to say, ebay, and buy an unlocked iphone, then call tmobile and ask for ‘tier 3 data support’ we’ll get you up and running for less money and no new contracts. :)

        • JD says:

Dude, that is really cool so, if I am not a customer and I buy a brand new phone, I can connected to tmobile with no yearly contract? Please let me know.

          JD

        • David says:

i think i love you jen, wow… Im getting the new n900 nokia phone unlocked, and im so activating it with tmobile,. lol

      • Rhonda says:

I so agree with John… I have been wanting to upgrade my phone for a while,(from a simple Samsung blast) but have been patiently waiting for something I will want to hang on to for a long time-despite new phones coming out every other week. ;-] With doing a little research on the MyTouch and the iPhone… I decided to stick with T-mobile for the very reasons John mentioned. It’s not worth it to me to switch to a carrier that is much more expensive in the long run and lacks in customer service, just to have the “better” Phone. The MyTouch is a great phone, you can add the gig’s that you need (for a one time fee vs a higher overall cost) and Android is constantly updating!

  6. manny says:

you know …. u can always wait … but for the money … i have to agree that the iphone so far …. beats the phone by a long shot….. i am still holding off for the samsung i7500 also… that at least might have sum hopes…. if not … i too will be forced to go 2 at&t…. even though i hate that network with a passion…. i would do so … just to get the iphone that has all the applications i need… i been with t-mobile since 2004…. after i came back from iraq… and i have had no issues with the company…. but you guys have to wake up and smell the coffee…. because 3/4 of the phone you guys come out wit are worthless……

  7. jesse says:

i think all the complainers should get together and create their own awesome wireless company with all the best phones!!!…yeah thought so.
THis could aslo be just a pay day for this company til christmas comes around, and they come out with a new version with more memory and if possible a little sleaker!
    it’s business yo!

  8. Like everyone have mentioned before, you can root the Mytouch. This way you extend the size of the internal HD. People do this to install more apps. Also, you are not restricted to the flash card that comes with the phone.
I’m with AT&T, and been loyal to AT&T for a very long time. The release of Mytouch will eventually make me go with T-Mobile. I’ve seen the G1 and IPhone side-by-side. They are pretty much the same, but Google and the folks behind it are writing more and more cooler apps.
Also, if you say something negative about a company or phone, you must state some examples; otherwise, ya’ll just sound like a sour puss.

  9. kathy says:
