Video: How to send MMS on iPhone 3.0?

One of the best features to come from the new iPhone 3.0 OS has to be the support of MMS. We have had a number of our readers explaining that they have not managed to use the new MMS features yet; here we have a video below explaining all you need to know.

There are a few things that you need to remember, if you are on the AT&T carrier in the U.S., then MMS will not be supported until the summer. If you are an O2 UK customer, then there are a few simple steps that you have to do so that you can use the full benefit of MMS.

Firstly for those who do not know, if you own a 2G iPhone then you will not be able to use MMS. If you are an on Pay Monthly or a Business tariff, then once you have downloaded iPhone 3.0 OS you will need to wait for O2 to activate it, if you do not recieve a picture message from O2, then just text MMS free to 1010. This video does not explain HOW to send an MMS at all, it just skims over the actual functionality. I still don’t know how to add an image to my text messages on iPhone 3.0

  2. Heather says:

I agree. This video is not helpful at all. It tells you about the feature, but in no way explains how to use it. It’s my understanding that MMS is not even available yet, bc ATT is not offering it until summer in the US.

You cannot send MMS from the iPhone 3.0.1, only from the 3.1
That’s what I heard. My friend has the 3.1 os and he can send pictures. You go to your photos, then click on the little icon that gives you options, and it should say send as MMS.

  3. Antonios says:

This does nothing but tell you what is new it tells you in no way what you need to do to actually send the pic message.

  4. This might help… here is a site that has an abundance of links to reviews and articles explaining the release of 3G S to impressions of the 3.0 update on the original iPhone. http://pfx.me/vC

Hi, i updated but had no mms functions, i also had my data network blocked, once i unblocked it and added a data plan to my phone it worked.

my question is, does the MMS use the 3G/edge network??? or is it on the same network as SMS?????

  6. Frnk says:

there is a tiny camera icon on the left hand side of the message entry box. press it and select an image or picture and u can send it as MMS. it is Great!

  7. erik says:

Mine does not have that tiny camera icon….

  8. Darren says:

MMS is a separate icon and NOT part of SMS - I have just updated and no MMS icon at-all. I’m Vodafone UK and an unlocked iphone, i.e. full price iPhone (from New Zealand).

  9. Dennis says:

I don’t see the camera icon either. I read that if u are on AT&T that you won’t be able to send mms messages till “the summer”!?!

  10. Neil says:

the MMS feature isn’t available until late July.. you would set it up in your settings once it’s available

    • PetyDavy says:

for sure u wont see the camera icon on the SMS function till u launch to the setting function - general - network - cellular data network. u will see a function under MMS for you to complete. just set it according to your service provider.

but the problem still have too, it can receive MMS yet you cant even send an MMS..

      PetyDavy!
