Who would have thought how popular Windows XP would have become, but this has been helped with the terrible Windows Vista. XP has certainly been going much longer than Microsoft would have ever imaged, and have extended the avaiablblity of the software and support for it on a number of occasions.
Microsoft has recently announced that they are to extend the availability of XP even further, Computer World reports that this could be as late as April 2011. Who would have thought that XP would have seen off Vista and will now be made available alongside the upcoming Windows 7 for 6 months.
Michael Silver of Gartner has said that the idea is a complete mess, as it would make it even more expensive for companies to upgrade their PCs to Windows 7. Do you think that Microsoft is making a mistake, or do you think that it is a good idea? Please let us know by adding your comment below.

Great idea! XP works, and you shouldn’t “fix” what isn’t broke…especially in a corporate environment. I know mid-sized corporations that are just now changing over from Windows 98 to XP.
