LG’s First 3D LCD TV: 47-inch 47LH50

Over the time we haven’t reported much on 3D TV, the most recent news were in mid 2008 when sky were thinking of using 3D TV to show the 2012 Olympics and when Phillips were testing their 1080p 52 inch 3D HDTV which you don’t need glasses to wear.

LG let out some big news this morning as they have revealed their all new 3D LCD TV with glasses, LG are so confident that this is going to be a big hit all around the world they are going to make 30 million units which they plan to sell by 2012 just before the Olympics.

As you already know sky are thinking about making 3D TV possible for us because of how amazing the last opening ceremony was. They said that there will be a good chance that we will see the next Olympics in 3D as they are doing the live coverage of the 2012 Olympics.

Sky have been showing their demo of the 3D TV to the head office over in west London.

Phillips and Telefonica have teamed up to also try and make a 3D TV and will be testing it in Sao Paolo in Brazil, the only problem with the TV they are going to be making is the cost which is going to be $26,000 US. They are expecting for their 3D TV to be around in about 3-4 years time.

Whats your opinion on the idea of 3D TV leave them in the comments below.
