Future Call of Duty Games: MMO-style subscription service
By: Peter Chubb | June 18, 2009 | Leave a CommentThere have been a few rumors that future Call of Duty games will now come with MMO-style subscription service; this new feature will allow subscribers to have access to a range of new options, such as early access to new maps.
According to computerandvideogames.com, they have reported that a strange Activision survey has appeared on Destructoid. In that survey, it talks about a new Call of Duty service, saying that it would “enhance the multiplayer experience and provide exclusive access to a group of gameplay enhancements.”
The range of options that will be available to subscribers are, the early access to new maps as we mentioned above, as well as game modes, exclusive character skins, and a whole bunch of other stuff.
If the rumors are correct, then the new service could have a monthly fee, but it could also come bundled with future Call of Duty games free, we will just have to wait and see. We reported this morning that Activision would be releasing a Modern Warfare 2 Collector’s Edition.
