Claims of PS3′s Ghostbusters Lagging Behind Xbox 360′s
By: Peter Chubb | June 18, 2009 | 22 CommentsHarsh words have been said about how the Ghostbusters video game performs on the Sony PS3 format compared to the Xbox 360. Joystiq is commenting on an article that was wrote on EuroGamer, which said that playing Ghostbusters on the PlayStation 3 was like going back in time and playing the game when the console was in its early development.
There have certainly been a number of reports to confirm this, so it seems that the PS3 version of the game is lagging behind the Xbox 360 version. Joystiq thought that they would find out what the problem is with the PS3 version, so spoke to developers Terminal Reality.
A spokesperson for the company said that Ghostbusters on the PS3 is much softer; this is a direct result of the ‘quincunx’ antialiasing filter. They also added that the PS3 version renders at about 75 percent of the resolution of the Xbox 360.
The question is, has the PS3 now maxed out, or has Terminal Reality’s engine not up to the job for the performance of the PS3?
What platform do you think Ghostbusters will perform better on?
