New iPhone 3.0 Update: Do you see the download?

What time will iPhone 3.0 be available? This is the big question today, with Apple only saying that it will be sometime today (June 17, Wednesday).” I have been on my iTunes now for about an hour and I have been clicking update every five minutes, but still nothing.

We do not understand why Apple have not informed anyone what time the download will be made available, but one thing is certain, when it is here, Apple’s servers will get hit very hard. If anyone can see the download yet or if they know what time it is coming, then please let us know by adding your comment below.

The new iPhone 3.0 OS will come with 100 new features, which aims to make the iPhone better than ever. Some of the updates will only work with the new iPhone 3G S, which is due for release on June 19. One of the features that will only work on the new handset is the voice control.

As of writing this article, I have pressed update about four times in iTunes, but still nothing. I can see myself getting bored with doing this after a while, but I need to try this new iPhone 3.0 update out.

Is it June 17th everywhere yet? WTF?

I read somewhere that the update will be ready today at 8AM (U.S. Eastern time).

This makes me not want to deal with Apple. I am going to ride to work, laptop open, wireless card on deck, and checking for the update. How crazy is that? Plus, I am going to get the new IPhone 3gs on Friday. Is that even crazier? If I get it, I might give my 16gb Iphone to my wife, then she will give her 8 gb to our 15 year old.

There was some article I saw this am on the ‘unlock’ for 3.0 being available Friday. I’m trying to find it again and if so I’ll post it. I’m hoping I’m wrong though….

    From another site….

Today all hungry iPhone users should see the iPhone OS 3.0 update released, but for iPhoner’s in the UK it is still a few hours away and should arrive in the UK between 5 and 7PM according to Pocket-lint.

Obviously lucky iPhoner’s over in the States will hit iPhone OS 3.0 first with an estimated arrival time of about 2:30PM in New York. Europe should see iPhone OS 3.0 hit between 4 and 6PM.

The word is that due to time differences, Apple Singapore will gain the iPhone OS 3.0 update on the 18th but Apple India is scheduled for the 17th.

Just looking at the O2 website in the UK for info, at the top of this page
    http://shop.o2.co.uk/update/steps.html
it says get your iphone ready for this evening. Suggesting we have at least an hour to go, probably not till 6pm or even 7. But it wont be out yet, so calm yourself everyone, have drink, put your feet up (or get back to work in my case) and dont ruin your day waiting for it!

It is now 15.45 in the UK and still no update! What is happening…….
