When we got the first map pack and a new Nazi Zombies map it made the last one seem rubbish in comparison. Not only was the second Zombie Map much bigger, but it also added perks.
In the last few days we have seen Call of Duty world at war map pack 2 released, and this latest addition takes everything a massive step forward.
COD map pack 2 features 3 new multiplayer maps – Banzai, Corrosion, and Sub Pens – and a new Zombie Map called Shi No Numa, and it’s this map we want to focus on. You can read a detailed hands-on with all four maps over on 411mania.
Shi No Numa is a dream come true for those that find themselves playing Call of Duty Zombies all the time. You got to love the creative minds behind these maps, they have never failed to please us with each new Zombie map.
In Shi No Numa it’s much harder to reach the Perk machines, they are in outer huts past swamplands and also when you enter a hut you get a random machine. It seems the best time to visit the huts (Doctor’s Quarters, Commroom, Fishing Hut, and Storage Hut) past the ‘Swamp of Death’ is when the gun box moves, when this happens you just look to the sky for a beam of light and head in that direction.
Once you enter a hut – this costs money/points, as do most things on Zombies maps – you have both windows to guard and the option of putting on the electric fence. The road back to the main building is not easy; you have to cross the swamp again where Zombies pop up from anywhere (you got to love being outside for a change).
This trip back is made easier by using the zip wire at one of the huts – another great feature – although you need to spend to get this and the electric needs to be on, but its great fun…all aboard.
This map is also the first time in Call of Duty history that you get to play all four factions (Japanese, German, Russian, and American). They each have their own personality and the lines they use are very funny.
In Shi No Numa you have both the ray gun, and a new electric gun that can kill all zombies in a given area once you hit one of them. Sadly the shots are limited, so make sure you have a backup gun if you get this.
Another great feature is the ‘Hellhounds’ in Shi No Numa, you may be doing well but every 5 rounds or so they will come for you from the thick fog and appear from a flash of light anywhere. You could be doing really well and then the Hellhounds come and it’s all over.
