Some new Apple Macbook Pros have slower SATA interface

Are you looking to pick up one of the new Macbook Pros that were showcased at this year’s WWDC event? You might want to re-think your decision as it has been reported that Apple have downgraded the SATA Interface from 3.0Gbit to 1.5Gbit speeds in the 13 and 15 inch models.

According to MacRumors, the white version of the 13″ MacBook, 17″ MacBook Pro and 13″ MacBook Air are unaffected and still retain the 3.0Gbit SATA interface, but unfortunately, the rest appear to have been made slower.

Have you experienced a drop in speed in any of the newer models? Let us know if you are having any problems. There is a list of details relating to this topic over at MacRumors.
