This time two years ago, Apple did not make enough handsets for the launch of the original iPhone, well it seems that we will see a repeat performance as there are reports that the iPhone 3GS pre-orders on AT&T are already sold out.
According to Apple Insider, AT&T staff has been told that they will now have to tell customers that orders that were made on Saturday June 13, 2009 or later will not have the new handset shipped by launch on June 19. They are now expected to wait at least 7 to 14 days after their order has been made.
It seems that the high upgrade fees have done nothing to deter those from upgrading to the iPhone 3G S. This certainly shows the power of how popular the iPhone is, and we cannot put the blame on the high price of the new Smartphone just on AT&T, some of the blame has to go to Apple as well.
Have you managed to pre-order your Apple iPhone 3G S in time?

Doesn’t surprise me…maybe a little, mainly because the new phone isn’t a huge upgrade over the old one.
