BlackBerry Tour 9630 on Verizon: Release delayed

BlackBerry Tour 9630 on Verizon: Release delayed

By: Peter Chubb | June 15, 2009 | 7 Comments

The BlackBerry Tour 9630 was expected to be released on Verizon sometime in July, but Phones Review has learned that the handsets release will now be pushed back to mid-August. This is certainly not great news for all those who have been waiting on the new handset, but we hope that when the new RIM handset is launched, all will be perfect with no bugs.

Phone Arena has reported that all the instructional and promo materials have already turned up at Bell stores. It has also been reported that a proper device has turned up at Telus, meaning that Canada is also ready for the launch of the new Smartphone.

CDMA carriers only real options at the moment is the BlackBerry 8300 and 8830, so as you can imagine the BlackBerry Tour 9630 is a big deal to them. How upset are you that the BlackBerry Tour has been put back yet again?

Ugh, super upset! This was the one thing I was hoping NOT to hear, but whatever. Typical. Well, I hope it’s perfect when it does come out. Think positively! :)

If you were to trace this article back to its source, it is a Verizon rep. So a verizon rep tells something to bgr, and other start quoting bgr. It’s just another rumor.

I am so sick of this! I have been limping through with my 8830 for months, half ass broken, to wait for the new “niagra”-”tour” whatever it will be. I’m so sick of the delays, I am seriously considering AT&T!!!

More disappointment . . . I don’t understand how a top-notch company like Verizon can’t roll-out smartphones that appeal to the masses. I’ve been ready to take the Blackberry plunge for months now and have been holding out waiting for a new phone to hit the shelves. I’m tired of being “teased” with all the Storm hype, Verizon-Apple talk rumors, and now the Tour. As we use to say in the Navy, “Why does it hurt back there?”

Could not agree more. Verizon is screwing thier customers by not putting out a true smartphone and throwing all these little teenager phones like the LGs at us. Also highly considering switching to At&T.

How can a phone with no announced release date be delayed??

How can the best Carrier have the worst phones. I’m losing patience with Verizon and they are on thin ice with their impatient customers!!! Palm Pre, Android, iPhone…all the best stuff is on the crappy carriers and Verizon has the best collection of the most boring phones…aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhggggggggggg!!!!
