There has been a lot of talk over the past week with the new Apple iPhone 3GS, most of the buzz is to do with its new CPU. The new Smartphone is twice as powerful as its predecessor; this is thanks to that more powerful CPU and double the RAM. There are many benefits to this, but one of the best has to be the improved graphics, one thing is certain, the iPhone 3G S graphics are on another level.
Ubergizmo have been taking a closer look in to the new and improved 3D graphics on the new iPhone, and have said that it is “like going from Half Life to Half Life 2.” It has been noted that none of the games that were demoed at the WWDC keynote did the iPhone 3G S any justice, as the phone has so much more gaming power to offer.
The new Power-VR SGX GPU that has been installed in the new iPhone 3GS has an increase in performance over the older iPhone model, normally this would be done by increasing Triangle setup and the second is the Fillrate.
Both of these are key to increased graphics realism, bit the new Power-VR SGX GPU is not all about brute force, as it uses more programmable architecture. If you want to know more about this, then visit the source link within this post.
