Nokia N97 vs New iPhone 2009 (3G S)
By: Daniel Chubb | June 13, 2009
From the moment that Apple announced the new iPhone 3G S, the quick reviews started to pour in, which were followed by hands-on reviews from sites that were lucky enough to receive new iPhone’s.
The news about the iPhone 3GS has continued to flow, from gaming on the new 2009 iPhone to the cost of upgrading versus new iPhone 3G S buyers.
While we have seen many comparisons of the Palm Pre to the iPhone 3G S, we have not seen many comparisons with the Nokia N97. This comparison seems like one of hardware vs. applications.
The Nokia N97 seems to have better hardware, where the iPhone 3G S and its App Store are second to none. The examiner has posted a good “iPhone 3GS vs. Nokia N97” article that asks the question about a device market or an app market?
Have a read and let us know if you feel that the market is more about hardware, applications or a balance of both.

The iPhone is nice, but if it is such a hot device, why can’t Apple produce more than one model, and why isn’t it updated more frequently? Most mobile phone makers don’t rely on just one model, and Apple should consider this if they are actually interested in market share rather than just profits.
Well that’s the unique thing about Apple’s venture into the phone market – by offering one handset consumers don’t spend time making a decision on which iPhone would best suit them. It’s a one size fits all scenario.
Nokia has a vast range of handsets and because of that their resources need to be distributed among maintaining each of their phone product lines, essentially you end up with phones which are not as capable, fast and advanced as a manufactuer who focuses on one handset. Eventually companys like Nokia, Sony Ericcson will catch up to iPhone but it will be slow because they also have to make sure their other phones are still competitive.
I am sure that iphone is unique because i have one, but i must say that nokian97 is serious opponent for iphone. For the specifications on iphone and nokia i decided that for the price and performance is better to buy nokia. However if you like brend and applications (even that nokia has many for symbian operating system) you will go with iphone. I think it is a matter of taste. One is faster (iphone) other has better hardware like camera, radio, etc.
In the end you will buy the only thing that YOU disire and think is better. I respect both phones and if i had money i would buy them both
