Palm Pre and Skype App

Skype have issued a statement that Palm Pre users might not be happy with, it seems that they will not be offering Skype on the new Pre handset for the foreseeable future. A Skype executive stated in the press release statement, that they would keep an eye on the WebOS platform, which is what runs the Palm Pre.

According to Pre Thinking, Skype currently have more than 440 million users, so there are certainly a few who own a Palm Pre, this is not good news for them as they know that the Pre’s rival, the Apple iPhone has support for Skype, which can be downloaded from the iTunes App Store.

Skype have also maintained that if you own a cell phone, then they would love owners to be able to use Skype. They said that they have deliver on this, offering support on a number of cell phones and smartphones. They understand how popular the new Palm Pre is, which is why they are keeping a close eye on things.

That’s no biggie. Who needs Skype when you’ve got a Palm Pre?

I just need to have back my Pocket Express.
That program makes me money and now that I switched from a 755p to the new Pre I feel naked without it.
Instead of trying out the program Classic I bought the damned thing because I read it had a 7 day trial.
I assumed that the version that came with Pre was a trial version (which it is) but not the entire program.
So I paid $30 for Classic and after reading the “terms” discovered after a customer activates the program there are NO RETURNS. If I could just find the files Classic claims will transfer over to the Pre maybe Pocket Express would work….

IM+ for Skype is now available for Palm Pre.

To enter IM+ for Skype just point your mobile browser to: s4palm.com.

It allows you to be online, chat and make cheap calls in Skype.
