Xbox 360′s with RROD: pack things yourself from now on
By: Alan Ng | June 10, 2009 | 7 CommentsBad news for all of you who are still having hardware problems with your Xbox 360 console, as Microsoft have confirmed recently that they will no longer be providing customers with pre-paid shipping boxes.
Microsoft confirmed the news to Joystiq, with the company stating that the policy has stopped due to “an effort to expedite the repair process.”
To clarify the new procedure, they stated: “Customers can now ship their consoles themselves using an e-label provided by Microsoft and do not need to wait for an empty box to be shipped to them.”
So there we have it, you’ll now have to pay for your own shipping box. Looks like Microsoft have grown tired with the overwhelming amount of consoles coming in, I guess it all adds up.
