Snow Leopard Server: No ZFS Support

It is no secret that over the years, Apple has been interested in the ZFS file system, they hope for it to become a possible replacement for OS X’s current HFS+ file system. The most recent rumors suggest that ZFS would eventually become the default file system for OS X Leopard.

Mac Rumors reports that while this expected change did not happen, Apple has still shown its interest in ZFS, with continuing to mention support as a feature of the Snow Leopard server.

Apple have since removed any mention of ZFS from its new Mac OS X Server Snow Leopard specs page, there is also no mention of ZFS on Apple’s latest OS X Server File System page.
