Palm Pixie (Eos): Confirmed, waiting on release date

According to Engadget, it has been unofficially confirmed by the Guys at PreCentral, that the Palm Pixie (Eos) is just waiting on a release date. While they were looking at the code in webOS ROM leak, they found something interesting in the miniboot.sh.

The code shows two different devices, castle, which is reportedly the codename for the Palm Pre, and pixie, which is another name for the AT&T-bound Eos. Could this be the sign of the successor to the Pre already waiting in the wings? Only time will tell.

It does make you wonder if Palm put this in the code deliberately, as to spark off another media frenzy just as the Pre did. Palm might have to do something rather than later, as they now have a tougher job, what with the price reduction of the iPhone 3G and the new iPhone 3G S.
