New iPhone 3G S News: matte case was real
Filed under: Cell Phones, Handsets

When Apple announced the launch of the new iPhone 3G S at WWDC 2009 on Monday, we all noticed that it looked the same as the current iPhone 3G exterior. Back in February, images of a new iPhone matte case were revealed, leading us to believe that the rumor was not true.
Mac Rumors have said that the matte case for the new iPhone 3G s is in fact real. The leaked images of the new matte case are clearly marked with a new model number A1303 and FCC ID BCGA1303A. The FCC ID seems to correlate to the same model number as the new iPhone 3G S.
This is not a case of the FCC getting lucky with the ID, as there is no clear patter to the ID numbers. It is not certain if Apple changed its plans, but then again they could still make it on to the new iPhone. We will all find out on June 19.
