New Cheaper iPhone in 2009 and AT&T Wireless service
By: Peter Chubb | June 10, 2009 | Leave a CommentApple did the unthinkable on Monday during its keynote at WWDC 2009, and that was to reduce the price of its iPhone 3G. ZDNet said that although this new cheaper iPhone was great for the masses, it does not fix the current problems with the AT&T Wireless service.
The article does admit that they are impressed that both Apple and AT&T are to offer the 8GB iPhone 3G at a lower price, as more people will now be able to take advantage of the iPhone phenomenon. This move will certainly help Apple shift at least another 500,000 units, and the launch of the new iPhone OS 3.0 will make the phone so much better than what it is now.
If you are already an AT&T customer, then beware that you will be hit with an early upgrade fee for jumping over to the iPhone 3G. The deal is only worthwhile if you are a new customer to AT&T, but is it enough to convince customers of the likes of Verizon and Sprint to move to AT&T.
The other question is, will the $99 iphone 3G be the demise of the Plam Pre?
