New 3G S iPhone in 2009: Upgrade vs. New buyers
By: Alan Ng | June 10, 2009 | Leave a CommentFor those of you in the UK, hoping to pick up a shiny new iPhone 3G S, we’re sure you are aware of the hefty costs that network provider O2 are charging their customers to obtain one.
A few days ago, we reported that customers of O2 will have to pay to end their contract, even if they were on an iPhone 3G contract anyway. Aside from that, judging by O2′s monthly tariffs for the new iPhone 3G S, it appears that their (once loyal) customers are in for even more costly fees per month.
On the cheapest £29.38 per month tariff on an 18-month contract, customers will need to pay a huge £184.98 fee on top just to take the phone home. Even then, customers are treated to a not so generous 75 minutes and 125 texts per month. To avoid the handset free for the iPhone 3G S , customers will need to commit to pay a staggering £73.41 per month.
What are your thoughts on O2′s unreasonable prices? It seems a real kick in the face to all those loyal O2 customers who have been with the company for years. Share your opinions on this below.
