Sony’s Plans for PlayStation Network Store (PSN)

We thought we would have a 20-minute break from all the Apple iPhone 3G S news that is piling in, and give you something different. Sony Computer Entertainment America have been discussing its plans for the PlayStation Network Store (PSN), explaining in detail the improvements that they will be making.

Gaming Front said that SCEA would be improving the digital quality of games that will be arriving soon on the store. The store has now been online for a few short years and has faced tough competition from the likes of Microsoft’s XBLA.

Items that you download to the PSP such a song will have far better quality when you download from a PC. The PSN Store is about to offer a range of new games available for download, this has to be in anticipation for the new PSP Go, which will only get its games through downloading it from PSN.

I have to say, I thoroughly enjoy the PSN as I find less and less time for meaty-sized games. With this in mind, the likes of PixelJunk Shooters (it can’t be released soon enough) pleases me most. I hope Sony take the PSN incredibly seriously and plough their heart and soul into it. I’m more than happy spending ££s here and there, which soon mount up.

I probably spend the equivalent of two full priced games every couple of months on there… so it’ll soon rack-up to a decent sum of money for them.

    Keep it coming, Sony.
