The Indian market has already been able to experience the joy that is the Tata Nano, now the small car is on the way to the United States within 2 years. Automotive News is reporting that the small vehicle will meet with all the emission and crash standards.
The base price for this ultra-cheap car will be $2500, and if tests are successful, then we could see biofuel and diesel version the vehicle. There are still a few details that need to be worked out before the small car heads over to the U.S.
It is not known who will distribute the Tata Nano; there have been discussions of a brand new dealer being set up. There is however, another option, and that is to use the existing Jaguar and Land Rover dealerships, as Tata are the current owners of the brand. The latest on that news was that Stuart Schorr, a spokesman for Jaguar Land Rover dismissed the rumor.
