PS3’s Grand Turismo 5 (GT5): collision damage will be huge

Did you manage to watch the stunning footage of Gran Turismo 5 at this year’s E3 event? If you missed it, you can check it out here. An article we have found discusses some of the new features we can expect to see in GT5.

As reported from GuerillaPlay, one of the most notable additions will be collision damage. It is a feature which gamers have cried out for and it looks like Polyphony Digital have delivered to it’s fans.

Along with collision damage, there is going to be support for NASCAR racing cars and more detailed vehicle customization options possibly with support via the PS Store. Then there is also the PSP integration that we have already reported on here.

They’ve implied damage with the E3 trailer but is it going to make it into the game? What impact *coughs* will it have to the game as a whole? I’ve lost interest in the GT franchise as it’s just not fun enough for my liking anymore (too close to a simulator) but the potential addition of damage caught my attention as I still have a lot of love/respect for the Gran Turismo games.

Why not let Polyphony Digital announce it properly. Actually, have they already? (Link please)

It IS a simulator. A driving simulator. It says it in the game. They WANT it to be a simulator. Buy a 360 and go with forza then. I have both, trust me, grand turismo is a better series. As crazy as it sounds.

How can you not like Gran Turismo 5? It is as close as you are going to get to driving a real supercar like the Ferrari F430 or Corvette ZR1 with the exact same driving physics. You can also use it as a buyers guide for the you can afford, like the Subaru Impreza WRX STi. If you really don’t like Gran Turismo series than you have issues - it has the potential to be one of the best games ever made.

does anyone knwo when this game is going to be released so that we dont have to suffer with the prologue any longer? last i heard it got ppushed back from november of last year but i dont knwo when the new release date is. i cant fathom paying 60 bucks for a partial game that takes ten hours to beat.

The game isn’t 60$, never was. it came out at 40$ and i recently bought it for 29.99, decent investement i find, even if it is a glorified demo.
