New iPhone OS 3.0 Release Date: June 17th

Scott Forstall is back on stage and wishes to talk to us about how Apple’s job is to “make developers successful.” With this in mind, he then adds that the iPhone OS 3.0 will be available on June 17th worldwide, and is free to iPhone 3G and original users.
For those who own an iPod Touch, you will have to pay $9.99. Engadget informs us that for all paid developers, the GM seed is available today. We was hoping that the new OS would be available today, oh well can turn iTunes of now.
In an earlier post, we mentioned some of the cool features that will be included in iPhone OS 3.0, which is a major update. Does the new OS go far enough, what else would you have liked to see updated.

I really hope that there is some way to customize the software without hacking your phone. I would like to be able to change the interface a bit without having to resort to illegal actions.
