New iPhone 3G S: The ‘S’ stands for speed: Photo Gallery
By: Peter Chubb | June 8, 2009 | Leave a CommentAs most of us anticipated, Apple announced the launch of the iPhone 3G S, which will be released on June 19. For those of you who do not know, the ‘S’ stands for speed. There had been rumors that the iPhone model would look different and do away with the chrome bezel, but the handset looks much the same on the outside.
The changes are inside, Apple state that some tasks are now four times faster than on the 3G model. Data speeds are also much quicker, as things have been upped to 7.2Mbps HSDPA. As we suspected the camera now boasts 3-megapixel with auto focus and video recording.
The new and improved battery now offers 5 hours of 3G talk time and 9 hours of Wi-Fi internet use. The new iPhone 3GS now has voice control when holding down the home button.
