New iPhone 3.0 OS: TomTom to release turn-by-turn directions app

The goodies don’t seem to be stopping at the live keynote at WWDC 2009. TomTom is to release a turn-by-turn directions app for the new iPhone 3.0 OS. The app will deliver all the TomTom features that we know and love in an iPhone interface.

Some of the features include text-to-speech, this will announce directions, there will also be optional accessories, this will attach your iPhone to your car safely. None of this would have been possible without the updated OS on the iPhone.

Mac Rumors reports that the iPhone 3.0 accessory framework will provide an accurate GPS, speakerphone and it will even play iPhone media through the car stereo, as well as charging your handset. All this will be available in the summer.
