New 2009 Apple MacBook’s and Pro’s: Price cuts on old models
By: Peter Chubb | June 8, 2009 | Leave a CommentI have just had a laugh at my cousin’s expense; he foolishly went out and purchased two new MacBook’s a few days ago. I wondered why he did this right before the WWDC 2009. Well he is not happy; as Phil Schiller has just announced that they are reducing the price of the old models, as well as announcing a new range of Apple MacBook’s and Pro’s.
The new 15-inch MacBook Pro will start at 1699, while the 17-inch version will start at $2499. Apple is to add a 13-inch to their MacBook Pro line. Engadget states the obvious, “Price cuts are welcome for sure.”
Apple is also updating the MacBook Air, the configs and pricing will now be more aggressive. The starting price is $1499, the SSD version is $1799, but that also comes with a more powerful processor, that is $700 of the old price.
