Microsoft have announced that Windows 7 will release in Australia and New Zealand first this coming October. The releases in Australia and New Zealand are based on their position relative to the international date line.
As reported from Blorge Tech, the retail versions of Windows 7 will release on October 22nd in Australia and New Zealand. Now that you have a final release date for Windows 7, you’ll need to decide whether you want to upgrade from Vista or not.
An official statement from Microsoft states: “Our understanding at this time is that the availability of Windows 7 will ‘follow the sun’ on Thursday October 22. As such, we’re excited that the first retail sales globally of Windows 7 will take place in New Zealand and Australia as we cross the dateline ahead of other markets.”
Windows 7 will be available for download in October, as well as retail stores.
