Marble interface not in Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard

Steve Jobs at the WWDC 2008 announced Apple’s Mac OS X v10.6 – aka Snow Leopard – and he said that it would ship about a year from then. Today is the date for WWDC 2009 and we expect Snow Leopard to play a big role in today’s press conference.

This update that will succeed v10.5 “Leopard” is reported to focus on improving efficiency, performance, and reducing its overall footprint.

Mac Rumors have posted an article that includes some rumor about the Marble interface that some hope would be in Mac OS X v10.6. According to John Gruber, the rumored “Marble” interface will not be in the latest version of Mac OS X.

This is a rumor that can hold a lot of weight thanks to his last-minute predictions showing good accuracy in the past. The main reason he gives is that a new visual appearance isn’t something that can be sprung on 3rd-party developers.

Although Gruber did say that he felt “Marble” was a real Apple design project. Read more on Mac Rumors.
