Kindle Store vs. new iPhone Iceberg in-app bookstore

The Apple WWDC 2009 event certainly gave us, Palm and Amazon something to think about. Apple has announced a new application called Iceberg in-app bookstore from ScrollMotion’s and will compete with the Kindle Store.

According to Engadget, the new app will give us access to over 500 bestsellers, 50 major magazines and about 170 daily papers. That is not all; there will be more than a million books ready at the launch of the new program.

It looks as though Apple is taking the fight to Amazon, who only has 250,000 books on its Kindle Store at the moment. Apple might have upset Palm as well, as they have just announced the launch of the iPhone 3G S, which will be released on June 19.
