If you are running your computer on Linux and Mac OS X, then you will be pleased to know that there is a preview version of the Google Chrome browser available. We have to remind you that these ports are largely incomplete, but it does show you the potential of Chrome running on these other operating systems.
Ars Technica is reporting that this browser is unsuitable for those who would use the program regularly. Google Chrome launched last year, and was only made available for those running on Windows. The browser has been proving very popular and has been gaining at a steady pace; there is now a Google Chrome version 2.0.
Google have been facing the same troubles that other browser makers do when it comes to cross-platform software development, especially on Linux. The inherent diversity and modularity of Linux makes it very hard to translate a number of the elements built-in to Chrome.
The browser source code is now available, which you can download here.
