I was #3 in line at our BestBuy where they only had 4 Palm PRE’s and I wasn’t going to go ahead with it because of not being able to use my Palm Desktop that I adored. However, after holding it, playing with it for a few minutes, and then upgrading and walking out with one, I AM GLAD I DID.

I have always owned Iphone, but now, it’s for sale on craigslist. The Pre not only outperforms my iphone, but it just feels more natural in my hand. The keyboard is genius! I can tell this unit is a breakthrough for Palm and the follow-ons will be even more amazing. Wireless recharging is phenomenal! And a removable battery is the only way to go. Synergy is nice too.

Wal-mart only had 3 this Sat. I picked up the last one. A definite upgrade from my Moto Q. Once I got past having to setup a google account and import all my calendar and contacts, it was smooth sailing. The Pre just does everything better: camera (auto flash), contacts, touch-screen, Panora. Worth the $200

Im upset I went to best buy to find out they were sold out I ask how many they got in and they only got 4 WTH why bother. I guess they just wanna say it was a sell out. Come on sprint!!!

My sister in law owns a retail sprint store. Because she was not a “preferred” dealer she is not able to sell them. There is only one “preferred” dealer in my town but several “corporate” owned stores. Why launch a produce if you can’t make it available through ALL channels. Unless they want to limit the number going out there because their customer service can handle only so many calls about the new phone glitches. ??

I am kind of dissapointed because I am holding off on buying aniPhone because I have always been a Palm fan. I have my first Palm Pilot, and I also had the Palm Treo. Anyway, I have physical disabilities and I more often than not shop online. I knew that they would be ong lines and long wait, something I cannot handle very well. So, I am still waiting patiently for when they will sell it online, but it doesn’t happen soon, I am going with the iPhone. I cannot understand why Sprint will make their loyal customers wait in long lines not knowing that there were not enough Palm Pre and then not selling in online, or even having a date when they may be available online. That doesn’t make people want it more, it makes people move on to other things. Anyway, I’ll give it another couple of weeks and if it doesn’t come up online it will be bye, bye Sprint.

For those current sprint customers, please be aware that the discounts sprint is offering you, applies to new customers and those who have had their old phone for at lease 22 months. (see sprint E-mail below) Otherwise you have to pay the full price of $542 dollars. Yup! they didn’t tell you that! I was so upset at the store,I got home and E-mail sprint. $600 for a phone (w/tax)?? no wonder palm is failing.
In fairness to sprint, they did offer me a discount of 150 bucks but it still was not enough for me.I will just have to wait for the current hype to die down and purchase it online.

A word of advice for my fellow sprint friends. Always buy the phone on line!!!! and use their email system for any concerns or questions. You get a lot more discounts this way.

    Sincerely,

    Raul-Very Sad and Depress customer….for now….
