Deutsche Bank analyst Brian Modoff has come up with some great charts of the operating profits of Apple, RIM, Nokia and Samsung. You can clearly see that both Apple and RIM are pulling away from the other companies when it comes to its operating profits.

Apple’s profits were up 3 percent in 2007, 20 percent in 2008, and are expected to hit 31 percent in 2009. The story is the same with Research In Motion; they had 8 percent in 2007, 29 percent in 2008, and looks set to hit 35 percent of the overall mobile industry’s operating profits in 2009.
