PS3′s God of War III and Native 1080P

For those of you who was not amazed by the sheer brilliance of the footage of God of War III on the Sony PS3 at E3 2009, then there has to be something wrong with you. Next Gen News says that everything about the game screams success, audio, intense action and even the audio. However, it is the rumors of Native 1080P that has gamers talking the most.

We mentioned about the Native 1080P, this is only a rumor and so far, there is no evidence to back up the claim. However, Sony has promised us this, so it is only right that they deliver on that promise. A number of websites has already reported that God of War III is among a handful of games to be blessed with 1080p native.

We will just have to sit back and wait to see if this is actually true, no game like this has ever had a resolution higher than 720P. If you visit Wikipedia, they still have GoW3 down as being 1080p native, but we know how wrong they can be.

    GT5 is native 1080p also, and arguably a larger project. As is Wipeout HD, but that’s a PSN download.

    Well whoopee doo, soon I will have two games for my PS3 in 1080p.

    It’s astonishing why more games don’t look as good as Wipeout HD and I’m still reeling from the jagged mess that is InFamous. If the PS3 is as powerful as Sony keep boasting why do so many games looks so bad?

    infamous is a great game. Extremely playable and difficult to put down. Some of my favourite games are PS2 games. Resident Evil 4 and Shadow of the Colussus for me remain 2 of the best games ever made. It isn’t just about graphics, as long as the playability is there.

    (note: I thought that the graphics on inFamous were pretty good for a sandbox game?)

    Hmmm… Nope. Native resolution, aka source output, of GTA IV is NOT 1080p. 720p 360 and 5xx for PS3. Just because it says 1080p “compatible” doesn’t mean 1080p native. ;)

    Anyway, Lair was 1080p and it still looks great. To bad the controls and tiny install base doomed it.

    Games in native 1080p are:
    Lair
    Gran Turismo HD
    Ridge Racer 7

    Yes PS3 does need more 1080p games. Supposedly White Knight Chronicles, God of War III and Final Fantasy XIII (prolly only the pre-rendered cut scenes) should be in 1080p. 70% of PSN games are in 1080p.

    Quick question. Anyone see the God of War III in-game footage and thought “oh… it’s just more of the same but with better graphics”?

    I’ve got the first outing and have yet to finish it. It’s great fun but nothing seems to have changed. Just an opinion as oppose to cold, hard fact. However, was very disappointed at the repetitious gameplay seen so far.

    I downloaded the “exclusive” demo from PSN and was pretty under-whelmed by it.
    It’s just “more-of-the-same”, only with better graphics.
    Still the same old button-mashing and “press the symbols in the displayed order to kill the big baddie” sequences.

    I was expecting more.
    Ah well.
