General Motors have to streamline its business, which has been made all the more important after the company filed for chapter 11-bankruptcy protection on Monday. As we know GM have been trying to offload Saab, at one time there were thought to be more than twenty bidders, this has now been narrowed down to just two.
At one stage, it was thought Fiat was one of the interested parties, but Saab and the Italian automaker have denied this. Why would Fiat want to purchase the Swedish automaker, when they are part of a group who has purchased Chrysler, now Fiat has their foot in the door with the U.S. market.
Reuters reports that the two rival bidders for Saab are Koenigsegg and Renco Group. Koenigsegg as we know is also a Swedish automaker and we have seen their car storming around the Top Gear test track, Renco Group is an investment group based in the U.S.
