Cell Phone Elbow: Our health and phones

By: Peter Chubb | June 4, 2009 | Leave a Comment

It seems that no matter what we do in our life there are those who try to scare us into something that they think will happen. The latest health scare is to do with cell phone elbow, but it was not that long ago when we were warned that we could get RSI from texting with our thumbs on our cell phones too much.

Phones Review reported on an article that they came across on Philstar, stating that an American orthopedic specialist said that using a cell phone too much would lead to “mobile phone elbow.” If you do not believe this, then you should read about someone who is suffering from the condition.

66-year old Donna Malloy said that she noticed that she was getting a numbness in her hands while speaking on her cell phone for hours at a time, as a result she used to keep dropping things in her left hand. After a quick visit to the doctor, she was then diagnosed as suffering from “mobile phone elbow,” another name for it is cubital tunnel syndrome.
