WWDC and New 2009 iPhone: Here’s what’s going on
By: Peter Chubb | June 3, 2009 | Leave a CommentWith just under a week to go until WWDC (Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference), there seems to be more evidence pointing to a new iPhone for 2009. Yesterday we reported on fresh rumors that surfaced about a 4GB iPhone model, which would have a retail price of just $99.
Computerworld.com explains that Canadian iPhone carrier Fido has a roadmap; in it contained details of this new entry-level iPhone. The new model will feature QuadBand GSM, Tri-band HSDPA, video chat and just the same basic 2-megapixel camera as the current model. This is perfect timing on Appleās part, they understand that more people would like the iPhone, but it has always been out of their price range. This new model will certainly put it within reach of more users.
The news of video chat coming to the new iPhone has certainly got the attention of current iPhone users, and more credit has been given to a 4G version of the most popular Smartphone on the market, as spare parts of the device were discovered on a Chinese website last week.
