RIM expected to clear Palm Pre and Apple WWDC events

As we know, the Palm Pre is launching this Saturday, 6 June and a new Apple iPhone for 2009 looks set to be announced at next week’s WWDC (Apple’s Worldwide Developer’s Conference), as a result a huge pressure has been put on RIM to deliver more.

FP Trading Desk has reported that Jim Suva, a Citigroup Global Markets has said that Research In Motion is more than up to the challenge. RIMM shareholders must be waiting nervously to see what the outcome will be at WWDC, to see if Apple will announce a new iPhone.

RIM say that they are not worried, but they have to be as the Bold has just taken the market share from the iPhone, but this is due to rumors of a new model. If Apple announces that there will be a new iPhone in 2009, the Bold sales look set to fall once again.

Do you think that RIM has anything to worry about, please add your comments below?
