Google Android and SVOX speech output solution

SVOX, the company which provides embedded speech solutions has recently announced that they will be bringing it’s speech output solution to the Google Android platform.

According to IntoMobile, the move will see SVOX join Open Handset Alliance in developing the speech output solution, which will now be performed under the name SVOX Pico.

Within SVOX Pico is a TTS engine, six language packages and a variety of tools which will be used to create languages and voices.

SVOX CEO Martin Reber stated “SVOX is committed to bringing high quality speech to the mobile market, with first-class support and integration services. This is the first step in our mission to bring natural-language technology to the Android community.”
