For Netbook: Apple MacBook-style multitouch trackpads
By: Peter Chubb | June 3, 2009 | Leave a CommentThere is one thing that we know about Synaptics, they are always quick to develop their own functionality or copy something that Apple have already done. Their latest innovation is on the latter I am afraid, as they have clearly gone for Appleās MacBook-style multitouch trackpads for use on a netbook.
As we mentioned above, Synaptics is to use this system on netbooks, as computer makers have trouble fitting the regular touchpads onto the much smaller system. ClickPads will work in conjunction with Synaptic’s latest Gesture Suite 9.1.
For those who are not familiar, all the usual features are here this includes three-finger press and three-finger flick. This allows you to start your computer with up to six predetermined startup apps. Synaptics informs us that SGS 9.1 is Windows 7 ready, and will be available once the new OS is released.
